Information about the 2025 David C. Frederick Honors College Spring Commencement Ceremony
Thursday, May 1 at 3 p.m. in the Petersen Events Center (3719 Terrace St, Pittsburgh, PA 15261)
- This ceremony IS NOT required, and those who choose or are unable to participate may still collect their Frederick Regalia when the time comes.
- You are allowed to invite up to 8 guests and unlike Main Commencement, guests DO NOT require tickets. A REQUIRED RSVP registration form will be released 30 days prior to the ceremony for you to complete.
- Academic regalia (cap, gown, and hood) is required to participate; watch the "how to wear your regalia" video. The University of Pittsburgh will be sending out information regarding the purchase of regalia when the time comes through your student email. Should you need assistance borrowing regalia, please reach out to Lauren DelSignore at LND16@pitt.edu with your home school, height, and weight when the email from the University announces regalia instructions.
- You will obtain University honors graduation cords (for summa cum laude, magna cum laude, and cum laude) through either the University Store (Oakland Campus Graduates) or Academic Affairs Office (Greensburg Campus Graduates). Any issues with University honors graduation cords are handled through your home school, not the Frederick Honors College.
- Frederick Regalia, to mark your completion of the Honors Distinction, the Honors Degree, or the Bachelor of Philosophy degree, is available only through David C. Frederick Honors College. If you are attending the David C. Frederick Spring Commencement Ceremony, you will receive your Frederick Regalia at the ceremony. If not, you will be given the opportunity to pick up this regalia in advance. You do not need to purchase your Frederick Regalia.
- Parking for guests is available throughout Oakland (Soldiers & Sailors Garage, Sennott Square Garage, Forbes & Semple Garage, in addition to street parking).
- If you have any questions regarding the completion and submission of your graduate application your degree classification, or your eligibility to participate in the commencement ceremony please contact your individual academic advisor.
