Blair-Alexandria Cobb

Internships Coordinator

Blair-Alexandria Cobb serves as Internships Coordinator in the David C. Frederick Honors College at the University of Pittsburgh. Her experience teaching city-university life and engaging honor students at Point Park University has provided her a unique perspective regarding the value of service-learning, Human-Centered Design Thinking, and community building she aims to incorporate into this role.

Blair-Alexandria is a graduate of Mount Holyoke College where she served as a Community-Based Learning Fellow. During her fellowship she worked in the community of Holyoke, MA teaching, mentoring, and collaborating with K-12 students during out-of-school time. Partnering with organizations such as Girls Inc and Boys and Girls club, she took an active role in every department from leading clubs, advising staff, to content creation. She studied abroad at the University of Kent, in Canterbury England where she studied urban planning and psychology. She had the opportunity to facilitate round table discussions and provide feedback to her peers. She believes active listening can cultivate inclusive environments for honor students from different walks of life, while empowering them to be agents for change in their individual communities.

As a member of a large family of academic excellence, and a former Honors student herself, Blair-Alexandria has served as an education consultant and thought leader in her community. She has interned with several organizations, such as Neighborhood Legal Services and Aliquippa Impact. She has a passion for research and continues to fuse professional development and critical race theory practices into her community efforts through her dissertation. She is married and has 2 children. She is active in her church community serving in the music and youth departments. She is an avid reader and host a book club. She is happy to trade book recommendations. She enjoys playing games and creating icebreakers, as they provide safe spaces for people to unwind and enjoy themselves. If you are ever looking for a movie or new show to watch, she has the scoop!
