Nearly two years after the naming of the David C. Frederick Honors College, the vision created and fostered by founding Dean G. Alec Stewart, PhD continues to thrive as the college grows, shaping today’s students into tomorrow’s leaders.
In December, Guy N. Molinari (A&S ’83), chair of the Frederick Honors College Board of Visitors, made a generous gift to the College to name the dean’s suite in Dr. Stewart’s memory. To celebrate the naming, the Honors College is planning an event this spring.
Molinari’s gift will be used to create an endowed fund that will support experiential learning opportunities for honors college students, which is core to Dr. Stewart’s goal of creating capable and motivated graduates who “enjoy reading, writing, and thinking across the disciplines.” To build upon Mr. Molinari’s gift and allow others to honor the impact Dr. Stewart had on the University and their lives, the fund will remain open for others to make contributions.
You can make your own contribution to the Dean G. Alec Stewart Student Resource Fund on the 8th annual Pitt Day of Giving (PDoG) on Tuesday, February 27.
